I have the latest version (1.3.11) installed in Windows MCE. Due to some security concerns with browsing the web, I wanted to change the primary account to "limited" rather than "administrator".

PVRX2 still runs and records just fine. However, I found that I could not delete a program after we watched it. I tried a number of things. I then right-clicked the icon on the desktop and selected "run as", and ran as an admin. Then I was able to delete the files. So, for now I have returned the account to admin.

I don't know why MS only gives the choice of Admin or limited, but that's all that is there. I do not see any user-based permissions on the folders, or I would try changing that.

Recordings worked fine. Just delete (so far).

Is there anything I can change to allow running everyday as a limited user?

Thanks
Chuck

I'd guess it'd be related to the permissions on either your recording directory, or the gbpvr.db3 file.

I don't think MCE allows permissions per file or directory, so I am not sure I can work around it. Funny, it allowed recording. It did not delete either the DB entry or the files, but maybe it quit when it could not change DB.

Can I move db to a different directory? It may be locking the program files directory to limited, though still not sure why it recorded.

Thanks

Media Center Ediion 2005 (MCE) allows file and dir level permission control. It's just like XP. Turn off "Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)" in a file explorer window under Tools|Folder Options|View

Thanks. I'll give that a try today.
