A command-line interface is definitely worth doing.

I'm a 2-belt and braces chap, so I like to have my meta-data embedded, in an xml file and in a Recording Format file. It would suit me to be able to select both of the existing options in 'Options/Save Metadata' as well as a third 'Recording Format' option - then I could do it all with one 'Retrieve Metadata'

I'll put these features on my 'todo' list.

OK, I will try that. Great, thanks!

As I am working with the plugin I wish there where the ability to remove the ones with xml-files from the view, or just to sort the list so the ones without is shown on top.

I have a few tv-series in dvd-format and the grabber won't find them.
Maybe this will come in a later release but I solved it for now with a simple solution. Maybe this tip will help others with the same problem.

I created an empty file in the same folder as video_ts and named it "folder_name.wiz". And added .wiz as a appendix to search for in the grabber.
This makes the dvd to show up and images and xml-files are created where they can be read.

JavaWiz Wrote:That is a possiblity, I already have added the ability to specify the series and episode as S99E99 or 99x99 format. I would need something to key off of to identify that the number is the TvDb key though. First provide a couple of full filenames you are having an issue with, and I'll see if the current logic can't be tweaked to handle better.

Is this an option that needs to be set, or does the logic look at that along with the title? I'd love the ability to use the "Series Override" and then force it to only look at S99E99 and go from there.

Nope, that logic is built in. It will assume series/episode lookup (ie TheTvDb) when one of the following is true:
  • The filename contains a dash '-' in it. It assumes the series is to the left of the dash, episode to the right.
  • If you manually override the title and enter either a '|' or '-' in the target title.
  • If you check Series override and provide a series name. In this case, during lookup it will utilize your entry as the series name, and the filename as the episode name.

How best would you recommend making it find a file name such as this: [S01E01] Encounter At Farpoint.avi - I can use the series override and type in Star Trek The Next Generation. Or better yet, what if it didn't have the title of the episode, just my series override and the file name as S01E01.avi - could it then actually find the information?

If you drop the parends [] around the episode, it should find it with the series override.

BTW: I've noticed TheTvDb.com is having problems retrieving images (at least for me and a few others I've seen on their forums). The metadata is retrieved fine, but the image fails.
