Cannot get LiveTV to work. When I click on it, the screen blinks and does nothing...

Hi!

I'm new to GB-PVR, and I'm having problems getting live tv to work. When I open PVRX2, I can click on settings, and several other things, but if I try to click on TV Guide or Live TV, it doesn't work. The screen flashes, and then nothing happens.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the channel list, but I have tried a million different things to try and fix it.

I am using gbpvr version 1.3.11, and I'm using mc2xml for EPG.
My tuner is the Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick.

You havnt setup your EPG in your capture source. Check channels are listed in your capture source, they're enabled, and you've done the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step.

I've tried that several times. I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly, because the previews work in the channel mapping window, but when I click OK and go to PVRX2, it still doesn't work.

Not sure what is wrong with it.

Did you map each of the channels? Any channels not mapped are automatically disabled.

ie, you need to click in the 'tuning request' column of each channel you want to map (on left of screen), and select which digital channel it maps to.

Tried it, still doesn't work.

Could be Vista file protection getting in the way. Try deleting the "C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Devnz" directory.

This Vista thing looks a real pain if it does things like this with no notification.

Yes, they're in protected areas. I do set the permissions on these files to allow full access, but in some sequence of events that cause these files to be recreated, these updated permissions are lost, leading to this problem.
