I was looking at the new Mac mini specs and I think the price is pretty intriguing starting at $599 US $729 CDN http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/sh...y/mac_mini

At this price, some of the prices I have seen for the CPU challenged eeeBox and nvidia Ion (same GPU) seem a bit high.

Are you considering running Boot Camp and using the mini as a Windows box for GB-PVR? I wonder how it would do with HD...

No, that doesn't make sense because a similar PC with Vista would be cheaper. I do want to play with Plex and Boxee and maybe XMBC on OSX and see if I can add some hooks to call GBPVR. I am impressed with how OSX Leopard and UI looks and feels on an iPhone and iPod and want to get more exposure to it.

It is a luxury though and a hassle because of the lack of HDMI so it is not necessarily appropriate to the average GBPVR user.

If you need an alpha or beta tester, let me know. I was able to run GB-PVR as a client under Parallels on my Mini and it worked OK but not great. Well, it worked fine except that the HD video left something to be desired. I've been playing with Plex and am able to point it to the TV folder on my GB-PVR server and it plays stuff pretty well. I'm actually not all that interested in playback...I'd just like to be able to access the GB-PVR gui from my Mini so I can schedule programs, etc. Then again, I can do that with the web interface so it'd be mostly an academic exercise.

OS X is pretty nice...light years ahead of the older Mac OS's. Then again, it's really pretty much just a gui on top of Unix.
