Can I capture HD from motherboard?

I'm about to buy a new motherboard, and found this one interesting:

Gigabyte GA-EG43M-S2H

It has an HDMI connector in the back (mobo comes with inboard video), but everywhere I look they don't specifically say how it's to be used. Asked some friends, they told me HDMI signal can go both ways so, I ask... can I capture HDMI feed with this?

(would be simple to unplug tv and plug pvr right into computer...)

HDMI connections go one way. Connections from a video card or motherboard are always output devices. ie, for connecting to a TV or monitor with HDMI input.
