You could count the GB-PVR users from Japan, Norway, India and Brazil on one hand.

Also, mc2xml is one of the very few xmltv clients that does include this info, but it usage is very uncommon outside north america. There was a lot of well established xmltv clients in use in the big countries like the UK etc well before mc2xml existed.

Quote:I guess my point is, even if 1 person has a full xmltv file, I don't see why gbpvr wouldn't want to take advantage of it.
I hear where you're coming from, and dont totally disagree, but its not a good use of my very limited time to develop features that are only usuable by limited set of users (myself not included doesnt help either), particularly when I've got so much other stuff piling up that needs to be done.

Because we all love gbpvr, we are grateful for it and and yes, is raises our heckles when people appear directly critical of this free software with scatter gun "suggestions for the improvement of gbpvr" such as:

I'd like to suggest that gbpvr catch up with the times

I think it is time GBPVR improved its dinosaur EPG and scheduling capabilities

Luckily, after 50K posts, Sub has evolved a thick skin and so he focuses on the matter in hand, leaving us to snarl and nash our teeth at the ney-sayers.

Agreed gED. GBPVR is not only the best thing out there by leaps and bounds, but it's free to boot. JDG, you could have worded your suggestions to sub and the forums in a much better way. Ungrateful and insulting comments like that put down the entire community, not to mention sub. I don't know how he puts in so much time here in the forums and supporting us users and still has time to do development of such a complex piece of software. You should remember that next time you post comments like suggesting GBPVR catch up with the times.

JDG: Maybe it's time to put your money where your mouth is? If you want sub to improve the EPG and scheduler, how about ponying up some cash to make it happen?

Now, all that said, I often wish that sub would include a more robust program scheduler like CDK and the xsuite in the base distribution since it's such a core feature. But since there are plugins I'm not hurting at all. I'd suggest checking out some of the plugins if you want extended features beyond what sub includes in the base install.
