I have two accounts under XP, one for the Media Center, and one for configuration the media center via remote desktop. This is because I've set my HTPC to automatically boot up and login to that particular account upon powering on and automatically running GB-PVR. This makes it easy for my mom and sister to understand how to work my HTPC.

I installed GB-PVR and MovieWiz under the Media Center account.

I can't seem to be able to add new movies or change the database at all using the other account I use for configuration through remote desktop.

It crashes and tells me I get IOFileNotFoundException because apparently the database is read only. How can I set it so that the database is NOT read only?

I manually checked MovieWiz.db3 and Windows Explorer says it's not read only.

when you created the new account, you must have asnwered yes to 'make this users files private?' prompt, which encrypts that user's profile and user created documents[gbpvr.db3] so that only that user can see that particular copy...
not sure if you can undo that easily, probably just a reg entry, but all the files just need permissions for the other account set...
[just changing the files' permissions isn't enough, also change the setting so new ones aren't encrypted.]

i think you'll have to re-create the accounts making sure not to make the files 'private' when you do...

to check to see if it's good, try to open the other user's 'My Documents' dir...
a search for 'make my files private' or 'profile permissions' should turn up a fix...
