just installed gbpvr on a fresh winxp sp3.

i have a problem. while watching live tv, after a few seconds, the audio and the video starts stuttering, and then the audio dissapears completely.

it happens only while watching live tv. it doesn't happen on delayed mode )after pressing pause) and recordings.

there is one more little problem - the audio and the video are a little bit out of sync. how can i fix it?

i forgot to mention - when i change deinterlacing to anything else than encoder pass through, it doesn't stutter (but than the quality is not that good).

about the sync problem - the audio is a little bit late (something like 100 or 200 ms)

I had massive audio sync problems with specific codecs (such as nvidia pure video trial). Different codecs might fix it. The one I'm using at the moment comes with media player classic (CCCP codec pack I use). Quality is really excelent but aspect ratio doesnt switch properly. Vista mpeg2 decoder is pretty decent to I may switch back to it.

I'm sure it'll be related to the decoders you're using. Try other decoders.

The deinterlacing should be left on 'encoder pass through'.

dave m, thanks but the problem is int in a the decoder, since i tried a few.

sub - i think the stuttering problem happens because the delay between what i watch to the real live tv is too low. how can i extend the delay?

When you're in live preview mode, there is no delay. The capture hard is effectively hooked directly to the decoders, then from the decoders to the screen.

Also make sure you've got your audio renderer set to 'system default'. Some audio renderers can cause stuttering.

Amittzor:

I suspect you aren't using live preview mode, though from the way you worded your first post I certainly see why sub thinks you are.

On the Misc tab in config there is a checkbox in the lower-left that says "Use Live Preview mode if possibe". If this is not checked, then you are always timeshifting and there is a configurable delay setting. That setting is on the Playback page on the lower right - Live TV Pre-play delay (ms). You can set it up to 4000ms (4 seconds). I'd add 500ms at a time until the problem goes away.

If you are already using Live Preview mode, then nevermind.
