My local transmitter (rowridge) has moved the muxes around today and I turns out my ariel is mis-alligned because about half the muxes are now unrecievable.

I need to get up the ladder and play point-the-ariel. I was wodnering, anyone know of a piece of software which would tell me to signal strength? I'm thinking if I set this software to one of the weaker frequencies, and have someone watching this screen while I'm 'up ladder it might speed things up a little. Before I just used Ctl-O (or whatever it was) in GBPVR but since GBPVR can't at present pick up the muxes again I can't use it. Any ideas?

but you might be better off with google maps and a compass.

Last time I did this I took a small battery powered TV up on the roof with me. Might not be an option if you don't already have the TV, though!

Have a look at the 'Your Comments' section at the bottom of this page - seems like you are not alone...

If your tuner is supported by DVBDream and I'm falry sure the nova-t-500 is, then is has a signal strength indicator built in. It also has an option to speak the strength or quality.

I've used a loudspeaker stuck out of the window when turning an aerial about! I guess someone with a phone and you with a mobile would work. Take care up a ladder though!

I used TSReader for fine tuning to reduce the error count as much as possible. Even in the free version this feature is available.
