Hello,

i am new Wink I thought gb-pvr has what i want and want to give it a try.

I am using an intel atom and a nova-s plus. OS is vista sp1.

I did 3 scans of Astra 1 and miss some channels. Really just a few. The frequencies of those channels are public and well documented.

http://frequenzen.digitalfernsehen.de/fr...ENCY).html

I saw the possibility to add a channel manually. The window is a bit to small to do this and typing a ~ deletes all input. Probably copy-paste from notepad will work.

However, i am not sure about the syntax gb-pvr is using. Any help to complete my channels list ?

I find the the edit box a real pain too use, but yes you can can add stations manually via config.exe. I map a "wrong" station station and edit it to make my life easier.

No, it was in the UI of config. But the scan-cache file is probably what i was looking for.

Personally I always do manual adds by editing the scan.cache file. Dead easy to take the settings from kingofsat or lyngsat or another kind poster from here Smile

Hmm.. for some reasons that didnt work for me Sad

But i found the problem. The 0192 transponder list was outdated. ts seems a new scan works more flawless with the new list.

I ll attach the latest 0192 transponder list for other Astra viewers.

I am still missing stations. *growl* Three more and i am set Tongue

Martin, BigMoose, could you give me some advice how to add stations manually ? All mapped channels and everything else is working very well and i like gb-pvr and want to stick to it. Still i need all my favorite stations Wink

I added a line into my SCAN-1.cache file, but gb-pvr doesnt seem to load it. Its not visible in config.exe. I guess there is another file storing informations about which station was checkmarked and which not. Should i delete something to make config.exe re-read the SCAN-1.cache ?

Martin, what do you mean by adding a wrong station and then edit it ? I added a station, gave it a valid name and number and then pasted one line from SCAN-1.cache into the tuning field. But once the field looses focus its empty and clicking it doesnt show any data.

I really need a step-by-step howto for dummies Smile

Otherwise i was wondering why i cant select a region when setting up a source.
Here
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Config/DefineSource
you can see that Canada was selected. I cant select anything but all. Did this change since the screenshot was made or do i miss anything ? If the scanner would only list channels with L:ger and L:deu, then my list would be shorter and better to handle.

After adding the channel to the scan-x.cache (I assume you've got the right x there? If you've only got the one capture device I guess there's not a lot of choice!) can you not see the channel in the config "map digital channels" preview window? You should have a list of everything in the scan and you should be able to select the one you added - even if it doesn't work (you'll get a blank preview). Assuming it does work the preview window should show the channel. Then you can add a new channel and map it to this one. I think you add it in the previous screen - call it whatever your EPG update will use (it might already exist and just not be mapped if your EPG source has added it) then map it to the one in the map channels list. Note that adding channels to the scan.cache can leave you with loads of versions of the channels in the drop down list when you come to actually map them so make sure you get the right one.

Sorry mague I can't help you I don't edit the scan file, I edit in config.exe. I add a station, then map an existing scanned setting to it from the drop down, and then modify it.
