When I manually add a channel, it shows up in that capture device that I added it too with the channel number I gave it. When I check the "Channels" tab, it has the channel, but on there it shows it with the very last channel number, as if I never specified the channel number and left the default. This doesn't make sense to me. Is there some way to make the channel show the correct number?

I seem to remeber that channel numbers in the channels tab are just a sort order.

They may have more of a relevance with legacy versions of GBPVR, but with 4 or 5 capture sources (and more) on machines, the channel numbers don't make sense. (nor do they relate to your capture source channel number - as you might have the same channel with 3 capture sources, each with a diff channel number)

You can change the number there, and it won't affect the number in the capture source, but just change it's position in the guide.

Yeah, they're unrelated numbers. The number on the main channels tab is the channel number you type in live tv to change to that channel, and also dictates the order the channels are shown in. The number in the capture source is the channel number it needs to tune to for viewing that channel, or send via an IR blaster. It most countries (except North America), these numbers are usually different - for example, "TV3" here uses the well known channel number of '3' here, but it broadcasts on different physical channel in different parts of the country. Here in Wellington it's carred on CH11. So the main channels tab would have '3', and the capture source channel list would have '11'.

You can change either number in the places they appear in the config app.

I cant seem to figure out how to change the number of the channel on the "Channels" tab. There's no edit or anything..

Also, after adding the channel to each capture source, it adds the channel to the "Channels" tab again for each one, till I have multiple of the same channel with each consecutive number given.

Just click on the number, and type a new one.

I see.. do I have to have 2 identical channels with the same exact channel number on the channels tab in order to have that channel on both capture sources? The channels that imported from schedules direct are not like this.

Manually added channels are always treated as unique to a capture source. They'll be treated as separate channels.

So if I understand this correctly, as I change channels, and go through these manually added channels I will actually be staying on the same channel, but switching between capture sources? Or if I schedule to record something that plays on one of these channels, it wont just record that channel on the available capture device, but only on the capture device that is configured for that one instance of the channel?

Thats correct.

Its only recommended you manually add a channel like 'svideo' for capturing from a VCR etc, not for a real channel. For a real channel its recommended you get a real EPG for it instead.

Why does this cause a problem? I've used some channels especially audio but on demand too like a vcr with no problem at all.
