Can't play back Hauppauge HD PVR recordings in GBPVR

I'm trying to get Hauppage HDPVR to work and could use some help.

So far, I can get the HDPVR to work in live preview mode using the Arcsoft decoder and DVXA1.0 output. The picture quality is terrific and the CPU usage hovers at around 20%. I can also make GBPVR record stuff off of the HDPVR. But when I play it back within GBPVR, I only get a black screen (but the OSD overlay is still there). I can play back the recorded .ts file just fine in MPC-HC and TotalMedia Extreme.

Did I do anything wrong, or am I missing something? I didn't install any codec packages yet, such as CCCP or ffdshow.

My specs are:
Windows XP
Athlon X2 @ 2.1GHz
2GB RAM
Radeon HD 3450 @ 1360x768.

Try playing the recording, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Sorry, I dont know. I cant see an obvious cause in those logs.

I tried playing the ts recording via the Media Library and I get the same result. Black screen.

I installed CCCP so that Media Player could play ts files. I then unchecked "Use built-in Transport Stream Reader filter for .ts files". Same result.

If I installed the filter graph thingy, would I get more insights into my problem? I never had to use that before.

I tried installing Windows 7 RC and I still have the exact same problem.

When I right-click the recording ts file and go properties, Windows tells me it's a MPEG-2 TS file. Does this mean it's going to use the "MPEG-2 Playback: Video Decoder" for playback, and not "Advanced Codec: H.264 Decoder"?

Also, how do I change the recording bitrate?

Sorry sub, I somehow missed the 1.3.11 survival guide sticky. Isn't ADD fun? Anyways, I installed the NativeUtilities.dll patch and playback of ts recordings now works!

Now I just need to haul my audio receiver to the workbench and see if the digital audio works. I might just get to see daylight before the end of the weekend!

I've got the same issue with my new HD PVR. Is there anything else I need to do besides copying the nativeutilities.dll file into the GBPVR directory. That's what I've done and still no love in GBPVR although I can play the recordings with the ArcSoft software and thru MPClassic and XBMC. I also have the CCCP codec pack installed.

Any ideas?
