GB-PVR startup: signal strength zero after reboot

I am using a USB dongle based on the E3C EC168 based chip (the Tuner is a Sinovideo SV 3420F DVB-T. When I reboot my machine and open GB-PVR it shows a signal strength and quality of zero for all channels. If I then run the software that comes with the tuner, it plays all channels. After that GB-PVR works perfectly with all channels.
It is almost as though the tuner needs its accompanying software to wake it up. Is that possible? Any suggestions?

Sorry, I have no idea. GB-PVR just treats all DVB-T devices the same and they're supposed to take care of initialising themselves when the drivers are first used.

I'd try looking for later drivers, or bug the manufacturer to fix it.
