Having sorted out the main problems last night (Thanks) I'm just left with 2 lesser problems I'd like to get to the bottom of. I've actually had these for some time but I assumed they were because my Windows installation needed redoing.

Now with a new XP installation from scratch I'm still getting what appears to be a very slow frame rate. It normally starts OK for maybe half a mninute then appears to drop to 10 or 15 fps (at least that's how I interpret the jumpy picture), it's watchabl;e but annoying.

I'm also getting lag on picture, the picture can end up 5 - 10 seconds behind the sound, switching chanells resets it.

I can live with both but it does occasionally get on the nerves :-)

Thanks

Reproduce the problem, then post the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Its probably related to the decoders, or audio renderer you're using.

It's now getting worse, after between 10 and 30 seconds I'm now gettign a weird warbling effect on sound which increases until it cuts out altogether.

I've zipped up all the logs, I hope you can point me in the right direction.,

Thanks

The logs are generally fine, but I see that you're using the 'system default' audio and video decoders, which leaves you at the mercy of the system to pick the decoders. I'd try other decoders as a first step.

Switching to the Realtek audio decoder solved the warblng. I think that may have been reset when i reinstalled my audio drivers.

Playing with the limited number of listed codecs seems to have some small effects but not what I'd hope.

Is there a recommended set which is known to work well?

Thanks

There are thousands. You will probably get a different recommendation from each user on this board.

I've used Nvidia Purevideo for years.

This gets lot of mentions ...

Thanks I was afraid that might be the case. Looks like it might take me some time to sort it out properly,

It'll have to wait until I have a few hours to waste :-)
