The new scanning window doesn't fit my ancient 4:3 TV!

I'm now back trying my Sat card on Thor. However It crashes the scan program at about transponder 14, got it once to go to 16. Get the MS error abount closeing the program and do I wont to send the rapport to MS
Looked at the logs, but they stop at transponder 13, then nothing.
Tried DVB Dream and the same problem! This is then not a GBPVR problem but what should I look for? Card driver?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Sorry, this is the price of progress. I dont have any options for you at this stage, other than temporarily changing your resolution while you scan.

If both DVB Dream and GB-PVR are having problem with this same frequency, it sounds like maybe they're doing something invalid in that particular stream. In the short term you could edit that satellite's .ini file to remove transponder 13. In the longer term, if you're able to capture a full transport stream for that frequency somehow, and make the file available, I'll download it and take a look in the debugger to see what is causing the problem.

If you are using a version of Windows with Remote Desktop support (XP Pro, Vista Business, Win7 Pro), then just enable it and do your scan from another system... the remote desktop client will connect at whatever resolution you specify.

If you're using a Home version of Windows, Remote Desktop is not available. I use TightVNC (http://www.tightvnc.com). TightVNC will connect at the same resolution as is currently set on the remote system, but you can change to a higher resolution once connected. Turn off the TV first if the higher res is undisplayable; you may have to uncheck the box in the windows display settings that limits it to resolutions it knows the TV can display.

One note about using TightVNC on a gb-pvr box - don't install the Mirror Display Driver, it will adversely affect video performance. Instead set the TightVNC server to poll the entire screen every 100ms.

Tested again, with just one transponder in the ini, good for quick scans. Manged to scan, but it crashed. However it saved the scan this time and I was able to watch a FTA channel for about 20 secs before it crashed. Sound of hard drives working overtime just before the "sorry we have encountered a problem"

I'm going to look into the card and drivers.
