I thought it might be useful to write a tiny utility to help mapping dvd folder share's on local drives in the format required for mvpmcx2. It's not close to perfect but hopefully it's a start.

This Windows program simply reads the "net share" command and then creates the two lines that can be copied into gbpvr.cgi

Thanks for the utility. I'm just giving it a try. On WHS I've got a comment assigned to the share that shows up when I use "NET SHARE". When I used your program it appears to think this comment is part of the path and gives me some extra bogus output. I plan on editing it before using, but I thought I would point this out.

mkdir /mnt/D\:\\shares\\Photos\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Shared\ folder\ for\ photos
mount -t cifs //192.168.200.50/Photos /mnt/D\:\\shares\\Photos\ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Shared\ folder\ for\ photos -o username=,password=,ro

I didn't even remember writing this utility but I'm glad it helps. I"ll clean this up a bit to fix this.

This is what I actually used.

mkdir /mnt/D\:\\shares\\Movies
mount -t cifs //192.168.200.50/Movies /mnt/D\:\\shares\\Movies -o username=GBPVR,password=password,ro

I had to create an account for GBPVR with a password. I could not get guest to work at all. If I didn't state a username and password then GBPVR would never start and it would just hang up. None of the following would work....

-o username=,password=,ro
-o username=guest,password=,ro
-o username=Guest,password=,ro
-o username=guest,ro
-o username=Guest,ro

This only creates a template and you can't leave username= or password= without a value afterwards. If you have guest sharing enabled on this share you might need to use root as the username if this machine is also your mvpmc share.
