I am guessing that most people do not watch LiveTV in Time-Shift mode. I am trying, but recording by pressing the Record button on the remote does not give me consistent results. I have two analog tuners. Here is what I have noticed:

#1 (Most common)
At 3:23 I started watching LiveTV on channel 12.
I press the record button and choose watch to the end of the show 4:00.
I return to the menu.
I check the Web and tuner 2 is recording.
I choose LiveTV and then check the Web and turner 2 is live-tv.
I return to the menu.
I check the Web and tuner 2 is sleeping.
I exit and use tray icon to restart the recording server.
Tuner 2 starts recording again.
#2 (Maybe after I reboot)
At 3:40 I started watching LiveTV on channel 14.
I press the record button and choose watch to the end of the show 4:00.
I return to the menu.
I choose LiveTV.
I am prompted to watch the show that is recording or do not watch tv.
I choose do not watch tv.
I choose LiveTV.
I check the Web and tuner 2 is live tv.
I return to the menu.
I exit and use tray icon to restart the recording server.
Tuner 2 starts recording again.
#3 (Only happened once when I was checking tuner status. I would love to figure out how to have this happen all of the time).
Started watching LiveTV.
Press the record button and choose watch to the end of the show.
Return to the menu (because I cannot change channels).
Choose LiveTV.
Now tuner 1 is live-tv and tuner 2 is still recording.
I have attached log files for #1 and #2, but have not reproduced number #3 (but I have seen it work!).

Anyone and any ideas on what may be the problem? Do I have bad hardware or bad software?

It is most likely a software bug in GB-PVR. The reality is that I dont spend a lot of time testing live tv in time shift mode.

I'll add this to my list of things to check for the next release though.

Tuners are used in the following order assuming all channels are the same:
For live TV from the bottom to the top
Recording from top to bottom.

Technically #3 should happen all the time.

Not sure what is happening with you scenario #1

I would be very happy if #3 happened all of the time.

Maybe I have something configured wrong. I have two capture sources defined and the only difference between them is the Name and the Board Number. They both use the same XMLTV file. I have attached screen captures.

Mostly what happens is they press the record button and the time shift buffer is recorded and the recording goes to the end of the show. They simply let the Live-TV play. The file size is huge because because the recording never stops, but they can watch the recorded show even while the file is growing and even though the start time and duration is not correct. It's really all there. If they leave Live-TV the are still OK as long as they do not return to Live-TV before the show ends.

They would like me to put the old PVR back (LG LRM-519).

Thanks!
