I am a new user of GB-PVR and I absolutely love it. I would like to make a few recomendations for the next version. I think it would be great to add some sort of automatic aspect ratio selection. I have a widescreen monitor and unfortunately many dvd's come in the 4:3, so it would be nice not to have to switch it back and forth. Also it would be good to allow you to select the aspect ratio for live tv. My final request is something that i don't know if it could be done, but I have a tv set up as a video mirror of my monitor. DVD's show up on both monitors, but I would like for live tv, and the menu's to show up on both as well. Your product is absolutely awesome though, and it comes at a price that nobody can beat.

thanks

If the GB-PVR application could remember size, aspect and position when it was shut last shut down it would be nice.

Also a snap to 4:3 / 16:9 aspect ratio of the display window would be nice (with a correction setting for these using 1280x1024 resolution on a 4:3 CRT monitor).

the big thing that is missing is the ability to cycle thru screen aspects while tv is playing eg 4:3, 16:9, zoom, 2.25:1, custom ones. media portal does this, most over pvrs do this, sub is busy with other stuff, fair enough, but this should be fairly high on the to do list.

I agree

Im sure many, if not most of you, are using this as a PVR on a TV, but I use it on my second monitor and having 16:9 content squished is not nice, I'd rather cut the sides of or watch it letterbox.

I may be mistaken, but it seems like I recall Sub stating somewhere that he is working on this to some degree, so maybe we will see it sometime soon.....

reven gave me this hint: use ffdshow-postprocessing to correct aspect ratios. there is no instant switching between the ratios and it would be nice to have an option integrated in gb-pvr but for the moment this may help.
