I'm looking at my NPVR plug in screen and I have no way to tell what version of a plug in is installed.

Could a column be added for that?

It would be meaningless without an API that populated this column.

I think that's probably part of what smajor is asking for. It would be trivial for npvr to query a plugin's assembly info at the point it's being loaded or at the point the Plugins view in Settings is opened.

Unfortunately I haven't been very careful or constant with my own version numbering especially of the assembly. I'd like to know what sub shows before having to explain it.

If you're using proper fileAssembly version numbers it'd be trivial for sub to query it on loading the plugin.

But not everyone updates those.

Yes, the "how" is up to all of you. Smile It would sure beat going to various plug-in dlls and trying to discern from the date of the file if it's older that is posted on the wiki or in the forums.

He already does:
Code:

So he does:
Quote:2012-01-09 12:23:09.858 [DEBUG][1] - PlexPlugin, Version=0.5.1.38765, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null

So with a version number updated in the project it's reported correctly.

That's the assembly version not the the version you can see with explorer. That's where I have inconsistent.

Martin

I get the same number in explorer.

It might depends on your AssemblyInfo.cs.

I always leave the
Code:
[assembly: AssemblyVersion("0.2.0.*")]

and remove the AssemblyFileVersion attribute. Mostly as it's doesn't support the .* I use for the build numbers.

But this seems to mean it shows up in the right places.
