Oops, the .ac3 file is over 316MB, not KB. So it's about 10% of the final .mpg - if that tells you anything?
Anything you've been able to guess from all the logs so far? It is odd, I discovered that Windows Media Player 10 would not even play audio on any of my DVDs (video was fine). So something I installed most have mucked up a codec or something. So then I installed a 2nd brand new DVD burner this am and installed WinDVD 4 software that came with it - now DVDs play fine on *either* of my DVD drives. But DVD2MPEG still produces no audio. Note that the logs I sent earlier today are from *after* I installed the new DVd drive and software...

Since it looks like the .MP2 file is near empty(5KB), and the .AC3 source file is 316MB, I thought I would try a different program to convert the .AC3 to .MP2. I tried HeadAC3che that I found at http://darkav.de.vu. But once I got it running, it reported that it "could not find AC3 header ". So now I suspect the problem resides in the previous conversion done by DVDDecrypter. So now I'll try to decipher all the command line options for that conversion program and see if I can figure this out...
Any help GREATLY appreciated!

manually go through DVD Decrypter and extract to one large vob file. Then run besweet agains the vob file, as this can extract the ac3 file for you. Its possible that DVD Decrypter is not demuxing correctly.
What DVD is it? Cheers, Colin.

I am now able to rip a different DVD, so suspect some of the problem was the particular DVD, The Forgotten. Installing WinDVD certainly was a factor as well. What a complicated world - these DVDs :)
Thanks for all the help.

I'll keep an eye out for this one on other forums to see if anyone else has had difficulties with it,
Cheers, Colin.

Here is a link that talks about how to get the fogotten to work. It is a special case. You can find another way to do it here.

Thanks for the tip! Of course I had to pick a "difficult" DVD title as my first project Murphy follows me around sometimes...
