Hi Sub,

I get some strange errors when doing the daily automatic update, but they don't happen when I update manually using the tray tool (which seems to update using PVRX2 and not the service...

Nothing springs to mind. How big is the file though?

Hi Sub,

about 15-16 MB.

Something is funny on the box, but not sure what. I did a complete re-install about three weeks ago, but nothing recently -- it's just getting cranky for some reason.

I did setup a new script to reboot the system once daily, as I have gotten tuner errors and once the GBPVR service crashed -- maybe the reinstall was corrupted?

Maybe a downgrade to XP would be helpful, but I'm not 100% convinced that Vista is the real culprit yet.

Thanks,
Dane

To be honest, I'm not really sure what to suggest.

That file location
Code:
C:\Program Files\Devnz\xmltv.xml
could explain this if you are using Win7/Vista

Hi Martin,

I am using Vista -- are there issues with a blank in the file name?

Thanks,
Dane

No, he's suggesting that it might be the Vista/Win7 file protection getting in the way. Windows tries to protect the "C:\Program Files" directory, and different user accounts can end up seeing different copies of the file, which could easily account for the behaviour you're describing.

You'd be best to try placing the xmltv file source in some other location on Vista/Win7.
