Hi,

Just wondering can somebody help me out here. Long time GBPVR user and I thought that I knew how to handle most things, but I'm stumped by this one.

I recently decided to wipe my GBPVR directory clean (many database issues, install is nearly 3 years old, so seemed like a good idea). Now that I'm trying to get my channels populated again, I have the following problem.

config seems to find all my channels okay, however only BBC1 NI and BBC2 NI and BBC News are assigned the correct channel numbers and get any EPG programme information. All the other channels end up on the wrong numbers (81+) and don't get any EPG data.

On closer inspection, it seems that all the channels have an ONID = 0 with the exception of BBC1, 2 and News. Don't know if that is any way relevant.

Any ideas??? This is a totally clean install bar adding my Nova-T USB.

Cheers Smile

I have seen that exact scenario in some users logs in the last. I'm not sure of the exact situation it occurs, but if the ONID wasnt found at scan time it could trip up EPG updates. I didnt really have any suggestions other than deleting those channels, and re-adding then, and hopefully this time the ONID would have been found.

Hi sub,

My looking at the scan.cache I've noticed that it alternates between multiplexes whether it detects the ONID or not. Not sure if this is just down to a weak signal or something, but this is the first time I've ever seen this the whole time I've used GBPVR. Very odd.

Will keep you posted if I discover any more in case its useful for the next release.

I think its a timing issue in the scan. The next release does it a slightly different way, and it shouldnt be an issue any more.

In the meantime, could you restore the scan cache files from a backup to get up and running ?? Or copy from someone else using your transmitter ??

Hi,

I seem to have got it after hours of rescanning. I basically had to manually check the SCAN-1.cache after every scan and copy multiplexes with LCNs to a new text file. Once all multiplexes are caught, it's possible to compile into a master text file and copy back into SCAN-1.cache. Add to this the need to repeat for part-time channels. Phew!!

I wonder did I not have this problem before because maybe the LCNs only need copied to the master channel database once? Is this a glitch only in 1.4.7 with the new channel mapping tools? I don't think prior versions had it.

Can't wait till the next release. Been keeping an eye on what sub is planning and it sounds great! Don't think I can go back to a living room without GBPVR!! Big Grin

We've seen reports of it prior to 1.4.7, so I dont think it's new to this release.
