I tried to use WizMetadatagrabber as standalone but got errors, so I installed GB-pvr and Metadatagrabber to see if it would work better.
But I can't match anything, it doesn't even search though the folders. The script worked before on another XP.
In the Gui I find all files, but I get "No entries found".

The log when I ran the script looks like below. What to try next?:

I am in the middle of making a bunch of changes to that program. I am not quite finished, but most everything should work in the new version.

Try installing the attached version, it will also update your WizDLLs to most current (un-released) version.

Zip and post logs.

With this version the script actually searched through the folders. But I never got any updates.
This is the script I use (originally - for this run I selected one specific folder):
Code:
WizMetadataGrabber  /d: "A:\!_TV" /sf /rc: False /rm: False

I have attached the logfile. First run is in the application and the second is with the script.
(disregard the use of different drive letters, I ended up with duplicate mapped share for this hd. And no, it is not a old floppydisc Smile)

OK, I was a bit too quick above. I just installed and ran it...
Now I notice that I had to select source now. And when I selected "internet" and ran from the GUI I got this exception when it tried to save info:

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Edit: This was run on XP.... And I guess I have some problem with -Net on that comp. I uninstalled 2.0 - 3.5 and reinstalled 3.5, without success.

Per Wiki:

If you get an error message indicating : vjslib.dll not found, the WizWebHelper DLL function for TheTvDb.com requires the Microsoft Visual J# Version 2.0 Redistributable Package, which can be found here.

That comp has something seriously wrong with it. Most things work, but the .net installation is Fubar...
So I went back to Win7, Lowered the threshold on UAC and now I get Wizmetadatagrabber to work there. But I am starting to get really annoyed that I can't turn off search on IMDB. Movies is perfect but I use it mostly on TV-series. Actually almost exclusivily (I use Moviewiz on movies).

Just now I searched for the series "Dollhouse" but the first hit on IMDB is "Welcome to the dollhouse" (Dollhouse is second). I do not know why I didn't get a hit from thetvdb. I thought that DB was searched first...

And I don't know how I can tell the app that I don't want that hit as it is useless. With the Alternate button I can find the correct entry, but I cannot replace the wrong title. When I select the correct one and press OK/Select or what it's called, the app runs a new search, finding the imdb title again...

I'll check the logs later when I have access to the comp.

One last edit post here... I succeded to get a exception that complained about vjslib.dll not found on win7 as well. But when I tried to install the J# I got the message that it was installed as part of the operating system... I think it is a little wierd though, that the app search for this file in the gbpvr folder...

I'll need to see your log files to figure out what is going on.

For metadata, you can select (and order) Internet, Database, Embedded and External metadata file on the options tab in the UI.

There is an undocumented config option ([SIZE=2]INetLookupOrder[/SIZE]) that allows you to get granular and specify not only what providers to search, but the order of the providers.
If it is set to "Default", it will search in this order: THETVDB|IMDB|THEMOVIEDB. You can modify the order (and what providers are searched) by modify that string and replacing the default.

I did get some information about Vista/Win7 and the db problem you are experiencing with MovieWiz. I'll need some time to research to implement a fix tho.

OK, thanks. I have made sure that the Internet checkbox is ticked and placed it first and I will look into that setting.

It works now, and I get correct info for Dollhouse as well. Thanks!
I got my .net issues sorted out...
