Hi All

So after a marathon format and reinstall (three years of microsoft updates to install)

I'm at the GBPVR setup stage.

So my first and most important problem is to do with playback of Live TV
I'm using PureVideo Decoder on Win XP with GBPVR 1.4.7
When watching tv the picture is perfect however the sound stutters once, then is fine for a few seconds and then stutters away to silence.
However when using the config app to tune the channels (more on that later) I get the preview picture with perfect sound (and can watch it full screen if I click on it)

So my question is what is the difference in the playback betweent he two systems and how do I make Live TV work in the same way?

Recording (using TS) works fine on playback I have perfect sound and picture
I've attached some logs in case that helps

Secondly I'm having the trouble with the Audio#2 mappings tha lots of others seem to be having problems with. Have tried the patch that sub provided but still having problems, Incidentally I'm getting a lot of Unknown channels in the scans as well, which considering I can see Crystal Palace transmitter can't be down to poor signal quality. On some scans they come up unknown at other times not weird.

This is all made a bit more annoying by the fact that I have rescan twice to get all channels and if I set up all the channels fine during the day, I then rescan in the evening and it messes them all up. It would be nice if there was an option to scan for New channels that didn't try and do anything clever with the existing tuneing requests.

Anyway I understand that Sub changed compilers to 2008 recently so there won't be any more patches for 1.4.7, so not expecting a fix. If some additional logs would be useful for debugging then I can post them if required.

Thanks for your help

The PVRX2 native log contains this ...

Quote:Graph contains the following filters:
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - BDA MPEG2 Transport Information Filter
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - GB-PVR DVB Subtitles
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - GB-PVR PSI Parser
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - MPEG Audio Decoder
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - NVIDIA Video Decoder
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - GB-PVR Flow Status
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - MPEG-2 Demultiplexer
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - GB-PVR TS Mon
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV 88x TS Capture
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod
2010-02-28 08:57:58.875 VERBOSE - Microsoft DVBT Network Provider

It ain't using the Nvidia audio decoder so that could be reason for audio problems.

I worked around tuning problems by rolling my own scan cache files and by editiing the source_channel_mapping table in the database.

I used my "best" tuner to do multiple scans at different times and saved the cache file after each scan. I copied and pasted lines from one file to another until I had a good file.

For me, editing the database seemed like the quickest way to map away the Audio 2 channels. I have five tuners so using Config takes a while. Eaxh channel is in the source_channel_mapping table once for each tuner.

Blah ... backup database ... blah.

Hi Graham

Sorry for thedelay in replying. Have been out of the country fora day or so.

Ok so I've managed to get Live TV to usethe Nvidia decoder, however the sound still suffers the same problem.

Have also tried leaving it as system default which I assume is what the config app is using but that doesn't seem to work either!

Failing any other suggestions as to wh it works perfectly in the config app and not within GBPVR I guess I'll try aand download different Audio decoder see if that works.

Thanks for the Advice Re tuning I'll givethat a GO!
