I am now using the nvidia 7300SE, and use this to drive my old projection TV that is 52", it only has the digital DVI input, and I find that the nvidia control panel has the desktop size adjustment that is very important to me, since the 1280x768 would be 2" bigger on each side and I spend a lot of time and find this desktop size adjust and make it to 1168x698 this odd size to fit the screen well.
now my question is: Do this ati card has something similiar so that I can adjust or not, and I am use it under XP pro, is the xp driver stable and ok.
thanks.

For a cheap card the 5450 is perfect and I have no issues on XP and Windows 7 with both mpeg and h264 High Def playback and picture is smooth and very clear.

be aware there are ddr2 and ddr3 models and mine is ddr3. Also get one with a fan. Mine got so hot it shut off the pc randomly watching high def and I had to add a case fan blowing towards the card to stop that .

Really happy with it and watching HDTV recordings with no probs

ATI has scaling. move slider and screen fills to fit as you describe. setting holds on playback and desktop

Wow, I typed up a long post in reply to the OP earlier today. I guess I forgot to hit the submit button.

But my long winded post basically said the same thing tvshowman did.
