I see this message referenced in two other threads, but I'm getting the issue on startup of pvrx2 before the main window opens

Someone mentioned a "skin issue" so I installed community skin, but this makes no difference

I've tried fiddling with the render settings, makes no difference.

This is a new installation on a machine that I want to be a client; it has no tuner.

gbpvr config loads and behaves normally, the recording service starts and stops as one might expect (albeit it's got no hardware to use).

I added logs, though there doesn't seem to be anything particularly indicative there

Any ideas of how to progress it ?

Thanks
Derek

Transcript from dlg box which pops up before main window. Main window is a plain rectangle, filled white with a red cross from corner to corner in it.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I'm pretty sure its happening because you've got the client database share incorrectly configured, so it cant find the gbpvr.db3 file on the server.

Yes, indeed this appears to be the problem.
After using an UNC share to the host machine, I can view recordings. No live TV yet tho
However, if the host machine happens not to be switched on .... crash ... GBPVRX2.x0061b801bdf12d35 and have to stop PVRX2 with the task manager.
At some time it would be nice to pop up a box saying "Lost connection to server" or something like with "do you want to wait" (or perhaps even nicer, option to send server WOL packet)

Thanks
Derek
