Here is another odd issue.
Selected a show from the guide, selected 'quick record', and the status showed it was recording.
About 5 mins later, I noticed the filesize was still 0 in length, but it still showed it as recording.
I pull up the guide again, and selected 'cancel', then 'quick record' again, and this time it worked.

Logs don't show any obvious errors, but, I was thinking isn't it possible for gbpvr to monitor/show the amount of bytes written so far, and if that is 0, to retry to record again?
Speaking of status, as I mentioned, it would be nice if you can show bytes written, and the current size of the source (1280x720 or whatever), and perhaps audio specs as well?

GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log shows no obvious errors.
The show I was testing was Entertainment Tonight...

Is this set in config.xml ...

<SecondChanceRecording>true</SecondChanceRecording>

Plus setting this to 1 might help with diagnosis ...

<BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>0</BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>

The "recording" status really means "trying to record". This doesnt change to some other status if the device fails to deliver any data - it continues to wait for data for the duration of the recording (with one attempted restart if the file if it isnt growing, as mentioned by Graham above).

SecondChanceRecording was true, and I have set BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording to 1

Perhaps status should also show signal strength as well?

With BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording set to 1, signal strength will be logged every few seconds while recording (provided your log level is set to "debug").
