Updating EPG consumes all physical memory

I seem to have a problem when updating the EPG, it keeps opening up more and more instances of PRX2.exe until it uses all of my physical memory.

The only way I can stop it from doing this is update the EPG from editing the tuners in the capture sources tab.

The EPG is sourced from NZ Freeview over DVB-S

Updating the EPG does not start any copies of PVRX2.exe.

Have you created a UpdateEPG.bat file? If so, what have you put in it? From your description, I'm guessing you're running PVRX2.exe from it.

hmm, perhaps it's my badly written batch file. I stopped using it but it's still there. Renamed it to .txt and the problem went away. :confused:

it only had
pvrx2.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG

UpdateEpg.Bat is called by the app when it updates the EPG. From UpdateEpg.bat you're starting PVRX2.exe and asking it to update the epg, which also runs UpdateEpg.bat. From UpdateEpg.bat you're starting PVRX2.exe and asking it to update the epg, which also runs UpdateEpg.bat. From UpdateEpg.bat you're starting PVRX2.exe and asking it to update the epg, which also runs UpdateEpg.bat. From UpdateEpg.bat you're starting PVRX2.exe and asking it to update the epg, which also runs UpdateEpg.bat. From UpdateEpg.bat you're starting PVRX2.exe and asking it to update the epg, which also runs UpdateEpg.bat. etc...

ie, you shouldnt have been running "pvrx2.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG' from that file. That batch file is intended to be used by people wanting to run their xmltv grabber to download their listings prior to the app reading their xmltv file.
