I am switching from analog cable to Verizon FIOS. Since all the channels will change I am cancelling all the pending scheduled recordings (one-shots and recurring). Going through the list I find that there are a lot of obsolete recording requests. Some are for programs that are no longer in production. Others are due to programs that have changed which day they appear.
It seems to me that a part of regular data base housekeeping (not just when your channel lineups are about to change), it is probably a good idea to clear out the list of scheduled recordings and re-enter new recording schedules. This would get rid of a bunch of entries that are just dead wood and never will cause a program to be recorded.
Having a way to clear out the pending recordings with a single entry would make this a lot easier.
