Hmm... good info. What about virus protection on whs?

Since I dont use my WHS for anything active (torrents or downloading) and always use another machine already with virus protection to put something on there I don't feel it's an issue.

Well with regards to your original question, I don't see any problems with what your have picked out.
I have always liked Nvidia cards myself, but that is mainly because I tend to stick with what I know. When I was looking to build my system I saw someone say that if you bought a GeForce 7 series or higher then HD playback would be fine. So I have a Nvidia GeForce 7600GS video card. And I have had no problems with video playback of HD. I don't know anything about WHS though to know if there would be any compatiblity problems with it. Anyways I hope this info helps.

Sorry young man, but I think you might be eligible for Vice-President... I keep my Photos, MP3s and Home movies stored on my domain server. Then I have a copy on a second disk in my domain server, further copies on each of my two GBPVR servers, copies on each of three USB drives, another copy on a small portable USB drive (which I keep by the bed in case of fire during the night) and as if that wasn't enough, I have further copies on my daughters' systems - one lives about 70 miles away and the other 300 miles away. So that's one original and 9 backups, although I have to admit that the two offsite backup copies are only syncronised about 5-6 times a year.

Sorry but I'm the god of Backup. I have GBPVR Server with photos and videos replicated to my Domain controller, which then backs up to a Super DLT autoloader. GBPVR also backs up to my Desktop and my backup server. My Backup Server first sends the data to a 2TB USB 3 hard drive, and second begins the external replication, first to my neighbour over 1Gb Ethernet and 2 to my brother's place 200Miles away over SDSL.

and I do this every night.....
