Thanks for the NPVR beta Sub. It's working fine for me at this very early stage of having it installed. Installation and tuning in was pretty straight forward. I appreciate that you have plenty of development to do but I'll take the opportunity to mention a few things that I'd like to see mainly to streamline usage - some that I found convenient with GBPVR & the Slimm tray add-on:
-Pulsing coloured tray icon so that the recording status can be seen at a glance
-Mouse over the tray icon to show quickly programs being recorded or programmed
-Double click the tray icon opens NPVR
-Remove the confirmation box that appears when opening NPVR from the tray icon
-Be able to alter the NPVR window size and have it remember that each time it opens
-Be able to save recordings in a single master directory to reduce navigation when playing back on my media player

It appears to be working fine in conjunction with EPG Collector, Windows 7 Scheduler and a batch file to hibernate after updating the EPG in the early hours. Can you tell me why the EPG it downloads itself from NZ Freeview DVB-T gives only an hour or two of programming whereas EPG Collector will do 7 days from the same source?

This has already been implemented for the next build, which will hopefully be available later today.

You can already do this by setting <AutoCreateFolders>false</AutoCreateFolders> in Config.xml.

NPVR looks for the standard DVB. Unfortunately they only transmite the now/new show over the DVB EPG on New Zealands DVB-T network. They do transmit the 7 day EPG in the data files for the MHEG-5 TV Guide application, but its in a proprietary format specific to NZ. EPG Collector was custom written to extract that information. I'd considered implementing similar functionality, but in the end I decided it wasnt worth the effort considering all the other work I had to do in other areas of the application, and that it'd only benefit New Zealand Freeview DVB-T users, and likely to break when Freeview next tweaks the TV Guide.

Hi Sub.

I may be stating the obvious but you may have wanted to check if http://www.npvr.com was available before changing the name. Wooo hooo hooo (spooky music) I predict another name change in the future. :-)

Also. Will the ga (general release) version be 2.0 since you did a complete re-write? Seems like a good time.

I did that months ago, which is why it is called NextPVR, and I have nextpvr.com. I'm just calling it NPVR to abbreviate. May yet change though.

Yeah, I'm thinking about giving it a 2.0 version number once we're out of beta.

Thanks sub. Config.xml didn't contain a line for AutoCreateFolders so I pasted this into it but that did not stop the creation of folders. Is there a particular line that it should go on?http://forums.gbpvr.com//images/smilies/confused.gif

Sorry - I take that question back. After further consideration the change works and files are being created without a new containing folder. (Perhaps I'll get the face right this time too!Smile )
