DVD backups not working in NPVR

I'm not really sure. The one log you posted that showed DVD playback with the NVIDIA Video Decoder had a few odd decoders listed and two Video Renderers, which I'm sure was a factor. The other log didnt show DVD playback.

OK, after unregging the Intervideo audio and switching back to dscaler, I get playback, sometimes. On some discs, when first selected, all I get is a black screen. I have to hit esc to get to the dvd menu. Others simply stay on a black screen with nothing but going back to the menu when you hit esc. I went back into GB-PVR and tested each in there and they all load just fine. Attached is a log. The goofy and backyardagains didn't load at all, the batman one loaded after hitting esc.

I sometimes got this with GBPVR with some movies if I ripped it with the option to jump directly to the start of the movie. Sometimes re-ripping solved it, sometimes it didn't. Ripping it with jumping directly to main menu instead of the movie always solved it.

I ran into this problem when testing out a DVD in NPVR as well. The screen would just go black and hittig the esc key would go back to the main menu. This same DVD would load fine in GBPVR. They were running in tandem on the same system and the only difference was that NPVR was using EVR as the renderer and GBPVR was VMR9 fullscreen exclusive.

I aslo suspect that the NVidia video decoder does not play nice with EVR hence the inclusion on the colorspace converter and the extra video renderer.

I am using the NVIDIA decoder so I'm not sure if it was the cause or not. Live TV, videos, and recordings with NPVR seemed to be playing fine with the little testing that I had done.

The other log was as far as NPVR got, then it just died. I went and grabbed the log immediately, and that's right where it stops. I don't remember ripping any discs any other way, as whurlston suggests, but I can go back and re-rip it in a standard way to make sure. I have to get the disc out of the attic, so that'll be a couple of days, since I hate going up in the attic ;- )

Thanks for peeking at this sub. I love your pvr software and I really can't wait to start using NPVR full time.
