I have been trying to get the video library to show metadata when I browse the folders.
It works fine when I browse my TV shows, then NPVR show what is written in tvshow.nfo

But for movies, I have to select the video file in the folder to get the movie data to show.
The folders contains various meta data files (movie.nfo, mymovies.xml and [filename].xml and .nfo), so I had hoped it would select one of them.
Do I have to use different syntax than with tv-shows? That seems unlikely.

Can you zip and attach the sample metadata files?

Here is the set of meta data that I have for one movie.
The files created in february is created with MyMovies and the new nfo files is created with Ember media manager (mainly for use in xbmc).

The .tbn file is just a renamed .jpg file, I do not know the reason for why this is done. But I added it anyway (I get jpgs as well).

On the subject meta data, it would be great to have NPVR load a couple of other items as well:
@title and @description is used in this version, I would love to also be able to use @season and @episode (for tv-shows obviously) and @year for when it was created. If I got that, I could list the items with @title instead of filenames and show season and episode on the right side with the description. Smile

.tbn is a ThumBNail that is the proper format for XBMC saving the process that NPVR does creating thumgs. The name may look odd but it isn't really any different from the .nfo file which is just an .xml file

At first I hoped for an response on the file. But then I understood that this was a answer as good as any:

I guess it means that there is no support for movie.nfo on folder level yet and that it may be introduced in a forthcoming version of NPVR. Wink

I've had your question sitting in a browser tab and been meaning to answer, but I've been a bit busy with day job stuff over the last couple of days.

People seem to be using a million different format nfo/xml files, and wanting them in differnet locations etc. argh! I'm already getting sick to death of all the different metadata file formats.

Currently, when it comes to folders, its only looking for the tvshow.nfo files within the folder (and inside that file it'll handle a few different formats I've encountered). I've added "movie.nfo" support for folders for the next release.

Thanks, thats great!!

I do understand the trouble with all different meta data files as I have tried different scrapers that have created a lot of extra files (that needs to be deleted).
To the positive side of supporting movie.nfo is that it also originates from xbmc as tvshow.nfo so it is sort of a standard...

It is very close to moving to npvr for good now.
