NPVR on Windows 2008 R2 64bit

I seem to have got NPVR working on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit; my satellite card is recognised, can run a scan identiy channels and I can successfully record the video. The recorded video can be watched on the W2K8R2 machine through Media Center and I can watch it from a client by accessing the recorded file direct.

However, the one thing that doesn't work is using NPVR to watch the recording nor will it present live TV. I'm assuming this is codec issue so which log can I look into to confirm and fix?

Think I may now have sorted it. In the NPVR settings for Decoders I've changed the MPEG2 video to Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD10) whereas before it was set to ffdshow Video decoder

I have a test rig with Windows Home Server Codename Vail AKA WHS II which is based on W2K8R2. On that server NPVR runs without any problems. Previously I had NPVR already running on W2K8R2 and only had to add some codecs.
Our experience is therefore the same

I'd like to move to Vail and currently have it in a Hyper-V deployment on my server. What codec is best for NPVR and Mpeg2? I'm also using a NMT Popcorn Hour as a client which was working and then stopped after I played around with the codec settings.

I am using the using the Cyberlink decoders which came with my TechnoTrend C-1501 cards. I am using PCH's with mvpmcx2 installed on the HD in the NMT's. This works perfectly. The codec settings could not cause the PCH to stop I think because the PCH is using its own.
My production machine is still running WHS with GBPVR and DVBLink/DVBSource with softcam to handle the 3 tunercards because GBPVR cannot handle multiple cards with softcam. NPVR is able to do that including multidec so recording several shows from the same stream. With 3 tuners is is now possible to i.e. 6 recordings or even more dependant on how stations are located in the streams.

Just tried again after rebooting everything and updating to latest version of NPVR and all is working once more.

I've also installed mvpmcx2 on the internal harddrive as this worked without problems for me unlike the use of a network share. Might swap the HDD out for a flash card when I move the PCH into the bedroom

I am using cheap silent 2.5" disks.
