I just installed NPVR 1.5.33 today, and I have no picture or sound in Live TV, just a black screen.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what to do to diagnose the problem.

I am attaching my logs.

Thanks for any help.

As i see the logfiles, nPVR don't find any directshow compatible decoder? Have you installed / selected any MPEG-2 / .h264 / MPA / AC3 decoder on your pc?

This wiki should help you a little: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Decoders
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

I went to the Decoders tab in Settings and tried all 4 video decoders (EVR, VMR9, VMR7, Overlay) and then went to Live TV, but I didn't get a picture with any of them. I should have mentioned that I have Windows XP SP3. I saw on the wiki that EVR was introduced with Windows Vista, so I thought I would mention which operating system I am using.

EVR, VMR9, VMR7 and Overlay are no decoders, they are just renderers. Yes, EVR is no Option for you. You can try anyway VMR9, VMR7 or Overlay. VMR9 should have the best quality (if the drivers for your graphicscard are good enough and the hardware not too old), overlay is very compatible (but with lesser functions).

Last but not least: theses renderers are no decoders you need to decode the video / audio. You could install Power DVD 7, 8, 9 or 10, CoreAVC for Video and AC3Filter for audio. Or you just install the SAF CoDec Pack from Hoborg of this forum.

A better alternative is to install CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack).

Here: http://www.cccp-project.net/

Edit: It should be noted that I also use the Cyberlink decoders for H.264. You'll also find lots of decoder packages here: http://www.dvbsupport.net/
