Ah, did you ever use the "old" ATI MMC? That's where all the hissy fits seemed to center. All stuff I want to leave in the past just like my working with front console booted computers, paper tape i/o & punched cards. <g>

Anyhow, got npvr loaded. Starting with the Kworld ub-435q as the only tuner. With antenna, get no stations - TiVme ("native" software for the stick) finds 14. For cable Qam, see only 2 channels - TiVme finds 90. I did a search for the stick & found a couple of topics for gb-pvr/hardware but not sure they apply here. So where have I already fouled up? Didn't really think that I'd screw it up this fast <g>

Under Devices, I see a "DVB-C Tuner for Windows Media Center" - do I need to do anything with this?

Saw in your startup post that the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video decoder works - don't have that. Only see Cyberlink (KWorld) decoders in npvr list boxes; see Cinepak Codec by Radius in Sound Props but not Cyberlink stuff. Vaguely recall some decoders restrict themselves to only working with some software so maybe that's the case here? Obviously I'm getting lost. A decent education/tutorial site? Does this even have anything at all to do with the device station scan?

Oh, just FWIW, when I loaded npvr, got a message that "Data Directory setting does not appear to be set correctly C:\Users\Public\npvr". Since I'm running XP MCE and not W7, don't think I should have gotten that. Just in case, I created the dir & reinstalled.
