Yesterday I had the system working well. 3 cards (HVR1600, HVR 2250 dual, and PVR 150) all recording and saving on a total of 4 satellite feeds.

Today, with no changes made other than a change in the destination folder for saving, all work except the 1600.

The log seems to indicate an issue with the WinTV 418 Encoder, but I don't understand what could be happening or how to fix it so it doesn't happen again.

Any ideas out there?

Log files (including filter check) attached.

Thanks,

It tried to use the device, but it failed to start. You can get an error like this if the device is in use elsewhere in the system.

sub - Once again, thanks for the quick response.

I finally got it working again by physically removing the card and then reinstalling. Clealrly not an optimal solution, but I will check to see if there are any other residual apps that might be grabbing the card at startup.

Dead again as soon as I did a power cycle, and now nothing I've tried will get it functioning again. I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Checked for any other services that might be accessing this card (there are none). Device manager says everything is functioning normally and there are no driver updates. So I've hit a wall.

Is it possible the files/drivers the app is looking for are actually in use by the app itself in support of loading one of the other cards? In other words, tripping over itself?

Has anyone experienced anything similar? And if so, how did you fix it?

To be honest, I dont know - I cant see anything obvious.

I cant do much about it in GBPVR, but if you find the same thing in NPVR, I can try to resolve the problem. Sorry.

Sub - thanks.
Just to close this off, I pulled the 1600 and replaced it with another 2250. I now have 5 cards all recording 5 separate analog signals. It's been up and running for 24 hours with no hiccups whatsoever. I am now happy (although somewhat poorer).
Thanks for all your help on this. And I will be testing NPVR as a replacement once it gets a bit more bake time, so expect to see me on that forum soon.Big Grin

you should be able to do 2 analogs with each 2250 if you get the second svideo input cable...[cheaper than another card]
[and setup selecting svideo2 in capture card setup]
i see they come with the 2250..cool...

pBS - Thanks. That's the way I have it set up - each 2250 has a co-ax input and a composite input, so I'm able to record 2 analog inputs on each card. Works like a charm.

on the Haupp. site it shows it coming with second bracket with the second svideo connections..i thought it comes with it..
that way you could have 2 svideos or at least 1 svideo + 1 composite, which should be better than using rf input..
only drawback is it takes up a slot just for the bracket..
