I'm running the 0.9010 version of GB-PVR and when I log in I still get the MediaMVP server window. Closing it kills off a gbpvr.exe process, but it restarts itself without the window. Is this supposed to start, or is it something left over in the registry from an old version? Although is doesn't bother me, it does bother the wife [Image: sad.gif] ...

Also, when this window is closed, the MediaMVP disconnects and then reconnects when the new process is spawned. That's kind of annoying since people tend to login to the computer and use it when I'm watching shows or listening to music through the MVP.

I started getting this window after I upgraded to .9010.
I have been doing what Tipstir to get rid of this box.
Maybe Sub knows why this box is showing up. This does seem to be something new.

I think that I have a fix for it. I'm trying to run config from each user account on the computer and changing the # of MVP servers from 1 to 0, restart, and then changing from 0 to 1. I think it's working, but I have some more testing to do.

I'll post the results when I'm done.

Its not new. I've seen it do it off or on for a few releases. Its only a problem at start up.

You can probably stop it from happening by visiting Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services. Edit the GB-PVR Recording Service. On the 'log on' tab, uncheck the 'Interact with desktop' setting.

Sub, that worked great! Yeah, that service shouldn't be interacting with the desktop.  BTW, you are great, too!

Tipster: Setting the number of MVP servers to 0, clicking on okay, rebooting, and setting it back to 1 didn't do it. After seeing Sub's solution, it was apparent that the ability of the service to interact with the desktop was the obvious root cause of the problem. [Image: smile.gif]

This ability to interact with the desktop used to be required back when the recording service had it's own tray icon. This requirement is now redundant with GBPVRTray.exe.
