Thanks to Martin's brillaint mvpmcx2 I was able to get my eGreat M34A working with GB-PVR just sweet as all get out.

I then moved the M34A to another slightly larger TV (from a 19" to 22") and changed from Wifi to Wired in eGreat Network config...

Now the GB-PVR screen is shifted off center ( up and to left ) on the TV screen

Any advice/tips on discovering the source of the problem and fixing it?

Thanks,
TomH for Lucille

It's sad that I get stuck answering all the questions on the NMT since I know other people know the answer, but you likely need to compensate for overscan on your TV by changing offsets in your config.xml. Maybe for PAL/NTSC try

It's sad that I don't have the confidence that anything I might advise on could be totally wrong with respect to the NMT and it's clones.

For example would it have been daft to mention mvpscreenposition for use on an NMT and/or GBPVR/NPVR as its function is just what would be needed. (I'm 99% sure I would have been shot down for suggesting it)....

Sometimes all I do is guess too, especially when there is no information in logs or country in the profile. Here I might be completely out to lunch of if this a 22" computer monitor HD over HDMI but it keeps the dialogue goind.

MVPScreenposition would have been a good suggestion, I just don't want to support it too. No one has written a plugin for NPVR either so I don't want to depend on it.

Martin,
While the overscan compensation did not help - the mention of mvpscreenposition got the old grey matter going and after reinstalling that plugin it showed me that it was recognizing a 640wide screen but at what turned out to be the old Wifi MAC address (as mentioned above I had changed the NMT config to 'wired')... breadcrumbs!
Digging back into the config.xml I discovered (searching for NMT, thank you) in the MVPSpecificSettings there was an entry for the initial NMT 'wireless' (a usb stick) configuration MAC address but none for the 'wired' configuration of the M34A.
I just copied the one and relabeled it with the (wired) M34A MAC-address - and shazam all seems good now.

?? Should I have rerun mvpmcx2 to enable an update to the config.xml for the 'wired' version of the M34A config - or would rerunning mvpmcx2 have done anything ??

By way of apologies
(1) when describing the initial problem I failed to add that it was only the GB-PVR screens that were pushed off center and that actual viewing of recordings was properly centered - mea culpa.
(2) it was unacceptable to have not included info such as the computing environment, the hardware, and the locale - mea maxima culpa. Now it's in our sig again.

By way of thanks - to you and the rest of the heavy hitting contributors - you are greatly under-appreciated indeed. We have been running GB-PVR for a very long time and it has been many years since I have had to so much as diddle with any of the inner workings. This is just my experience - but it speaks volumes to the great work you all have done and are continuing to do - that we users become so jaded over time. Here's hoping that you get the compliments embedded herein, you have earned them over a long period of time and they are well deserved.

Sincere thanks for your patience with this,

Now testing NMT's (eGreat M34A) under mvpmcx2 for MVP emulation - yea for Live TV again!

I thought it was a MAC address issue as it happened to me twice before but then saw Martin's answer. Also the MAC address has to be upper case in the config file or it will not work.

Thanks again TomH and Lucille, I should have had you run the NMT Syntax check, it's the best place to start for trouble shooting and it would have shown the MAC address with a message about the missing config.xml entry.

And yes there is an option in NMTInstall to update config.xml with an initial MVP MAC block. It's not very smart and so it creates duplicates.
