jam_zhou Wrote:Hi Hoborg,

thanks for helping me out here. I haven't installed SAF and instead tried using the newest CCCP again. This time I un-installed the old one first then installed the newest version. It started working mostly so I'm not going to use SAF at the moment. When I get some free time or another machine I will probably use SAF though. I"ve only got my production machine which the whole family uses so there's not much down time.

I do have a question for you though...what is the difference between CCCP and what you have? Both installs ffdshow and some splitters. I guess you customize somethings like changing config.xml and change merits so that it works better in GBPVR?

Some other points of clarification. I've got ffdshow working with DXVA and I can change subtitles and audio streams. There is one problem though and it's that the mkv can play but after a few times of exiting it kills gbpvr and I have to restart. Once restarted and I try to play a video the whole system locks up and I have to do a hard reset. Have you encountered this?

Another question is when you mentioned DXVA above do you mean with FFDSHOW or with PDVD? If it's with PDVD can you still switch audio streams and subtitles using the short cut key? I'm thinking the crashing is related to FFDSHOW DXVA so I'd like to try a different h.264 decoder. Another thing for me to try out is to update my Catalyst drivers - they are three years old.

Finally, I'm using a very old version of GBPVR which I am worried that is not compatible with SAF. Need I be worried if I do end up installing SAF?

Hi.
I have no idea what exactly CCCP installed and how it is working.
SAF is designed for HTPC.
You need to use FFDshow as audio/video decoder if you want audio/subtitles strem switching. Htis wont work woth different decoder in use. PDVD is recomended for LiveTV only.
SAF is testen on latest GB-PVR only, there can be something broken if used with older GB-PVR.
