The Recording Status window is suppose to (and use to) show the number of tuners (2) and what was being recorded on each tuner. Now, after reinstall, it shows all the tuners (2) and all the programs that are being recorded show up under the first tuner. Why?

Additionally, GBPVR use to indicate when you were trying to record more programs than you had tuners. Now it doesn't. I will see 3 programs being recorded and have to guess which 2 of the 3 are actually being recorded. Again why?

Thank again sub.

Depending on your broadcasting system and tuners, it is quite possible to record multiple programs on a single tuner.
Are you actually losing recordings? If so then posting your logs with program names and times would help finding out what may be going wrong.

Yeah, this could easily be the correct behaviour if these are digital channels. The multi-record feature allows more than one channel per tuner to be recorded.

I'm using a Silicondust HDHomeRun dual tuner with comcast. And no, it never recorded multiple programs (more than 2) at the same time, but if it ever did, I would be extatic.

If you're on comcast then you are getting as many as 10 SD tv channels on one frequency (for HD channels it's probably more like 3 per frequency). GB-PVR can use a single tuner to record all 10 at once. With 2 tuners you'll probably never see a recording conflict again particularly if you stick to the SD channels.

As to why you never saw this before your recent re-install, it's probably one or several of the following:

1) multi-record was added in 1.3.7
2) there is a checkbox to enable it; you may have had it unchecked
3) multi-record only works with the TS Mux; you may have been using an mpeg mux or DVR-MS mux before
4) the tuning strings created by a pre-1.3.7 channel scan had parameters that were incompatible with multi-record; if you re-scanned for your re-install, you got multi-record compatible tuning strings

The new NPVR application always does multi-record: it was built with it from the ground up, there's no way to disable it, and it only uses the TS mux.

Attach your logs with a note of the time and/or show that were shown as recording and we'll get to the cause of the problem.
