Hi- first post on here, so please be gentle!!
I'm based in the UK and I've been a long time user of TV cards/capture devices on my PC-I currently have a Tevion Xpert pci card and a Skystar 2 satellite pci card running off my motorised dish set up-both of which I use succesfully to capture in MPEG2 and burn to DVD or playback via my video card's TV out function.
I've recently been giving some serious thought to building a dedicated PVR and came across this site/software from byopvr.com.
I'm trying several of the PVR programs out there, and I must admit, I like the look of this one, but from the list of supported cards, it seems it's not going to be compatible with my Tevion card?
When I build my PVR, my intention is to use a digital tuner card rather than an analogue one alongside my Skystar 2 card, but again , it appears that GB-PVR won't function with them-or am I missing something blindingly obvious?
So, am I barking up the wrong tree with this software, or am I actually in the right place??
