I upgraded to NPVR (33) a few weeks back and am getting failed recordings a few times a week. I've tried everything I can think but can't seem to fix this. I didn't have any issues with GBPVR 1.4.7.

Here is an example from yesterday - any idea what the error 0x8007001f means anyone?

I'm not experienced enough to answer this but I seem to remember an error similar to this that was caused by some internet security program. But, you also have a 'ConnectFilters:failed' message. What video decoder are you using? Have you tried a different one?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm currently using the Cyberlink video decoder, but I've tried a few. I'm based in NZ and using DVB-S to watch Freeview - any idea what decoders (audio + video) work best for this setup?

I'll check the AV settings, but I'm not running any dedicated internet security software on my media-pc.

I've upgraded to 1.5.36 with all the available patches but am still occasionally getting this error (got another one yesterday).

Any other ideas anyone? I've tried just about every codec combination I can but this hasn't made any difference. It's pretty frustrating to randomly miss scheduled recordings - seriously affects WAF!

Help?

Maybe this page can offer some clue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319445

Thanks, but I'm not sure how that helps. There doesn't appear to be anything I can do to fix this - is there something that can be done to NPVR to resolve this?

I've always had issues with this.

Under 1.4.7 I would select a channel to watch and end up with 'no signal', quit and restart a few times selecting different channels and it would eventually work.

Under all 1.5.x versions I get 'device failed to start' on many occasions and need to right-click the system-tray icon and restart the recording service, sometimes more than once. It will end up working without quitting the main app.

This is Win7x64Ultimate, a WinTV Nova 500 Dual Channel PCI card (detected as a Nova-DT) and an HVR-1300 although I suspect all of my issues are with the Nova 500 as they are presented as the first tuning device.
