nPVR 1.5.36 dvd playing starts a new window when using overlay buffer, and it is using the video renderer from the decoders section, instead of from the DVD section (video renderer in DVD section doesn't do anything).

Cheers

Thats probably a sign that the video decoder you've chosen isnt compatible with the video renderer you're using.

For example, some versions of the Cyberlink decoder are incompatible with VMR, which can cause a new window when you try using them together.

Ah, right you are. I'll fix the DVD video renderer selection for the next release.

ok but i have tried ffdshow, cyberlink, MPC video decoder and another one i cannot recall right now, all of them spawned a new window except for ffdshow which caused the program to quit. I'm using them in pair with their respective audio decoders.
As soon as i changed the video renderer it stopped spawning new window, but since it uses the video renderer from the decoders section, i'm in for a world of hurt when trying to playback HD formats on anything but overlay buffer renderer, because of the extremely bad asus/amd graphics drivers my motherboard is using.

This patch should get it using the DVD renderer setting.

That fixed dvd renderer, so now i can use VMR9 for dvd whilst still using overlay for HD films, thanks.
