I have a new installation of NPVR 1.5.36 running on Win7 x32. I have the two tuners of an SiliconDust HD Homerun box up and working well; now I am working on getting the Motorola DCH-3200 STB working thru firewire.

I have the (legacy) firewire driver and the timmmoore drivers installed and appearing in device manager ( 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy), Motorola AV/C Panel Device (DCH-3200), Motorola AV/C Tuner Device (DCH-3200) and Unknown IEEE 1394\5068 Device are all there).

The Motorola STB does not appear in Devices; I also have a total of four entries for the HDHR (there is only one two-channel device on the LAN).

What additional setup do I need to perform for the Moto, and how can I remove the duplicate HDHR entries?

Thanks!

Sorry, there is no support for firewire recording.

That's too bad... I saw one post in NPVR section saying they had it working, but no details (maybe they were talking GB-PVR and posting in the wrong forum). Guess its back to GB-PVR for me.

any plans for future support, or maybe thru a 3rd party plugin? I will likely get an HDHR Prime when (if) they are released, but for now I'm stuck with Firewire.

Thanks anyway,

We dont have any devices that output over firewire in New Zealand, so it's not something I'd add myself. It might be something the community can add in the future though.

there was a plugin for gbpvr [pvrx2] that could do it..but it hasn't been ported over to npvr yet, and not sure it's even possible yet due to being early stages of npvr still..
something like firewire/graph player plugin it's called..used a directshow graph to do recording..

'Twas the GraphRecorder plugin.

I was never able to get it to work reliably with my SA 4250HDC STB. Some SD channels would record playable files and others would not, and nothing in HD would work. Once I got a Hauppage HD-PVR to connect it to, and migrated to NPVR, the firewire channel changing works great, though.

To my understanding - firewire STB setups have better driver support in Linux (for use with Myth) than they do in Windows.
