Yes that is only my opinion but it is my opinion that you are having specific problems with software and as a result you are giving a one sided opinion which results in a skewed response.

I said I would not brag about ffdshow but I will continue to recommend it when people ask for suggestions because it is one of the choices and it works for most people. It is relative easy since there are very few alternatives on XP. On Win7 I recommend the native video decoders with a splitter.

I have no problems with the software, only with ffdshow. And I know that I'm not the only one.

I know that you are not the only one with problems with ffdshow just as I am not the only with who uses it successfully as an mpeg-2 and h264 decoder. I usually let you have the last word but I have decided to challenge you so people at least find out for themselves.

one of the other forums i frequent has a great emoticon for this sort of situation... "popcorn:" (with a leading colon too) shows a little smiley eating popcorn, used to mean "I'm enjoying the show, can't wait to see how it comes out".
