A way to disable the hardcoded response to MCE remote button presses would be nice. Then, we could easily re-program the commands in external software as has been discussed in a few other threads.

save this as a .reg file and double click it to import..should do the trick for any alternative remote software..
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da]
"CodeSetNum0"=-
"CodeSetNum1"=-
"CodeSetNum2"=-
"CodeSetNum3"=-
only works for 'real' MCE remotes and compatibles.. [appears as "Microsoft Ehome ir transciever" in device manager]
let me know if it doesn't work for you..been using it for years now..Smile
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie

Thanks. I now see that Eventghost has a "Disable HID service for this remote" setting which seems to do the same thing. It still would be nice just to disable the default response in NPVR instead of having to globally disable the remote for all software.

Ok - I've added the ability to disable the MCE remote support in the next release.

This is why I love new users around here. I don't doubt for a minute that sub values his long-time users, but sometimes I think we've made too many requests and have used up our allotment of griping long ago. new users seem to have a fresh voice, and often manage to get fixes from sub that others have requested many times.

Not intentionally, but I'm sure there is some subconscious element of truth to it.

If a hear a request multiple times though, it does add weight to that request.

Quick, ask him for genre support in the tv guide while you're on a roll Big Grin
