Negative pre-padding / start recording late

NextPVR doesn't support the use of negative padding; the method TV Listings uses to implement it is some sort of 'hack'. as you can see it confuses the regular recordings screen. you'd probably need to use TV Recordings to edit such recordings.

I presume negative minute was not supported when I found this discussion still open in the Wishlist section :-)

Hoping that maybe one day it will become a feature

It might even be a bug, since sub's scheduling routines would have to support it too.

I haven't looked at it, but I suspect TV Listings just tweaks the start time of the recording, it's not really negative padding. I think there's something in NEWA that does that too (I don't use it, but I could swear I saw it once when I was poking around).

Negative min in PRE padding might not be easy to implement, but negative minute in POST padding could really be useful :-)

This might solve problems when positive minute in PRE padding that never really works even with shows ending and starting on the same channel as NextPVR switches tuners for no apparent reason instead of continuing recording on the same tuner. The only time PRE/POST padding works is when there is no show before or after the show recording.

I suspect that might also be caused by my Diamond ATI Theater HD 750 TVW750USB TV Tuner USB ATSC that might not be giving back the current recording data.

After some tests I like the TV Listings plugin Smile

I can put negative minutes in post padding for normal show and I no longer have issues with prepadding for 'important' shows Wink

.

Just remember not to update a recording using negative minutes with the Recordings plugin :eek:
