Why can't they leave the damn things alone
I've only just gone through the aggro of scanning and mapping for a new (to me) Nova S2 card.

BTW has anyone had problems with simultaneous recording problems with a nova HD s2 and a nova-t-500 i.e. total lockups with the latest drivers from the wintv CD???

Thanks for that. My Nova S2 was a new acquisition from ebay and I seemed to have to get the latest drivers for it to get S2 to work - so the nova-t-500 was updated at the same time as well I think.
I'm guessing it is a driver problem as not much else can lock the whole system up??

This is on my old GBPVR machine running XP so totally different software to your setup.

In a good way, I'm glad I'm not alone ;(

Not alone Big Grin

IMO Hauppauge make some pretty robust and good stuff. But what let's them down every time is their driver updates. It is almost impossible to update a system that has multiple/different Hauppauge cards without them impacting somewhere else Wink

Just my findings over the years and always the same results....

Then requires further fussing about to get individual cards working.

Why they would do this don't know. When the hardware is so good????

Sort out your drivers Hauppauge Big Grin

cheers

Just a bit of an update on this.

I'm putting a new box for NPVR (Gigabyte m/board with 3 PCI and 3 PCIe slots and E6600 cpu.
Inside, at the moment, is nova-t-500, PVR150 and Nova-S2-HD. Using the latest drivers from the wintv CD at hauppauge.co.uk forum.
I installed the boards one at a time and let the drivers install and that seems to have made things a lot happier.
Been doing a lot of simultaneous recordings for testing and so far no crashes from the driver.

Fingers crossed.

Good info.

I'm just waiting for my new dish and aerial to go up, then I am putting together a new NextPVR server. I am transferring my trusty PVR150 over to it and I also have purchased a Nova TD-500 and a Nova S2 waiting to go in Big Grin. I will try your tip Wink

cheers

I did appreciate GBPVR when I built up the new machine. Unplugged the trusty PVR150 to go in the new box and plugged an old USB PVR150 lookalike.
Just by loading the driver and changing the 'source' in setup, it worked with all the Sky box channels already setup without having to make any other changes.
