I installed 2.2.6 then late Sunday evening the first time I ran the new version the client crashed three times within about 15 minutes so quickly replaced the client computer with an old one with the previous version installed to see the end of the programme. There was obviously a serious problem so checked the forum where there were others with similar problems and the new NPVRTSReader file which I installed but it was too late to try it by then.

This morning as a test I started the client running a two hour film to itself but 45 minutes later I saw the server go into sleep mode so I knew the client had crashed. Enclosed is the client NPVR.log with the crash at 10:15 with a SQLite error and the Server NRecord.log has an “Unexpected exception” at the same time. I have previously had Client crashes so now have extra logging enabled so also enclosed are the client reader.log and stream.log files covering the client crash.

Has it just happened the one time since installing the updated NPVRTSReader.ax?

It does seem to have been a one off crash. In an effort to repeat the problem I left the client playing first a 3 hour then two 2 hour programmes and all seemed to complete ok. Before the new NPVRTSReader.ax a warning poped up saying NPVR was going to shut down which it did after a few seconds, but this error caused the picture to freeze so NPVR had to be killed.

Looking at the stream.log on the client when it is used I do seem to get an occasional "File time is stale" error followed by "Buffered data dosent appear to be from the correct part of the file. Dumping data to rerequest" error but some times on their own. However this does not cause a crash but me be the reason for an occasional pause in the picture.

Yeah, I saw that message, but I wasnt entirely sure how it could happen. If it was reproducible, I could have added some additional logging.
